Dr. Maria Chiara Ubaldi is a senior researcher at CoreCom, a Research Consortium between University Politecnico of Milano and Pirelli. She obtained her PhD in Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering in 2000, with the experimental thesis "Volume holographic technique for optical communication signal processing". She has worked many years in the field of volume holography in photorefractive crystals for optical telecom network: she has co-edited a book from the series “Topics in applied physics”, Springer-Verlag, on “Infrared holography for optical communications techniques, materials and devices”. Nowadays she is in charge of lithographic area in a clean room environment, with experience in substrate preprocessing, spin coating, exposure and development process. She has deep knowledge of electron-beam lithography based on converted scanning electron microscopes and in optical lithography via direct writing. She is steadily involved in roughness analysis on a nanoscale regime, inside process flow for Pirelli Labs research activities. She is usually involved in publications and reviewing activities for international journals and meetings.
