Maddalena Ferrario
 is a
researcher at CoreCom in the optical fiber communication systems field since 2000. Since 2004 she is also
pursuing the Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering Ph.D. degree.
In the context of the Ph.D. one of research project is to look for novel functionalities at
the nanoscale exploiting the scattering and resonance properties of titanium dioxide micro and nanostructures,
exhibiting different and complex shapes and boundary conditions. Her her research activities and skills include
Nonlinear effects and Polarization Mode Dispersion in optical fibers, low-coherence interferometry and
optical tomography, light scattering properties measurements and indoor optical wireless.
