Dr. Stephanie Cheylan is a Ramon y Cajal Postdoctoral researcher in the Nanophotonics Group at the Institut de Ciencies Fotoniques-ICFO. She obtained her Ph.D. in 2002, at the Electronic Material Engineering (EME) department in the Research School of Physical Sciences and Engineering (RSPhySSE) of the Australian National University (ANU) of Canberra, Australia. She has also done a short post-doctoral research work at the Electronic Department at the University of Barcelona, Spain. Her PhD was based on the study of the optical properties of Si nanocrystals fabricated by Ion Implantation. She moved on to investigate their use in various device applications, such as memory (MEMs) and light emitting devices (LEDs). Lately her work focuses on the study of hybrid organic-inorganic materials and structures for device applications, with a primary emphasis on fully organic devices (OLEDs). She has around 25 publications in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
